As with any other surgery, a gastric bypass has many risks that go with it. Even though it is a lot safer than it was a decade or two ago bypass surgery should always be the last option. A healthy diet and a good exercise program is always the way to go. However, sometimes individuals get so overweight that they start having some very serious medical problems; some can even be life threatening. If this is the case then bypass surgery could be the less of two evils.

However, you can't just walk in a doctor's office and ask for the surgery. There are mental and physical qualifications that must be met. If anyone out there has thought about having a gastric bypass here is a website that gives you a lot of information.
