Got moved into the new house and trying to unpack. What a nightmare. My oldest son and I drove 1800 miles in two days. Had a great time sharing, laughing, etc. The animals also made the trip in good shape and Diz is enjoying lying in the sun during the afternoons.

However, the kitchen and bathrooms aren't finished yet. They have to install the granite and sinks. Makes it difficult to say the least.

Arizona has started a very strict immigration law, which is affecting me right now. Most sub-contractors have lost their employees who have returned to Mexico. The resort told me their employees returned home at Christmas time and won't be coming back to the states. I think we may rue the day we passed the law once we see exactly what and how it is going to change our lives.

Diane...enjoy your new home...cooking and bathing are overrated...eat out and bathe at the service station down the street...LOL!

Seriously, glad every creature made it safely!

Yes, Dianne, I have read about the immigration laws. Some companies who relied on immigration have literally closed their doors because there is no one else to do the job. Did you tell us what town you moved to? Back to AZ. Hey, I'm going to be in AZ the week of March 10th.

I HAVE been eating out except for lunch. At least the refrigerator is running!

Lynnie, I'm outside of Phoenix and if you do come here, I'd love to meet up with you!

I'll enjoy the house when I'm finished unpacking. Can't really put bathroom or kitchen things away until the granite is installed.

Congratulations, Dianne. I can't sit in a car for 20 minutes without hurting and you drove 1800 miles. There was a time...

About Mexicans moving back to Mexico, I remember when Americans did that work for more money. Builders got greedy when they figured out they could pay less for the work. Maybe some Americans can get their jobs back now and make a living again.

Dianne, this is so wild that I should come here and see this post. While sitting at my FIL's home about an hour ago, my ADD mind was wandering while others were talking and I found myself wondering if you had arrived in Arizona with your son and animals yet.

Dianne, I’m sure 1800 miles was a strenuous drive, but what a great opportunity to just enjoy your son.

Granite kitchen and bath sounds elegant and cool, especially for those hot summer days.

In Germany when someone moves, the new neighbours bring a loaf of bread and a cup full of salt by. It’s a tradition from the medieval days. That gesture represents new friendships and hospitality. Bread was always an important nutrient, and is supposed to bring you luck and prosperity in your new “Adobe”.

So here’s wishing you a full refrigerator, friendly neighbours and hopefully among them are a couple of repairmen!

Dianne, wow, what a trip! I'm so glad you made it safe and sound and the furry & feathered "kids" tolerated it well. I hope your sinks, etc. are able to be installed SOON. Take time to adjust and enjoy. Just happy you're there!

Dianne, I am missing you. How will you live without the slipping and sliding and the messy slush?

I am so happy for you, back where you want to be. I look forward to hearing all about your new life.

Happy New Year, Girlfriend.
