Love Story! I remember that movie. I went to see it with a bunch of friends and my one friend told me the ending before it happened. I was bummed. I think I was one of the only people who didn't know how it ended prior to her telling me. Weird, the stuff you remember...

Maybe a Canadian thing but I remember a rock radio station and a show they had on during the day.

" It's Chicken Man, he's every where, he's every where"
Kind of like Wolf Man Jack type show only with Chicken Man. If you called in when you heard his "call" you won something. This stands out for me as I sat in the back set of my friends car. Her parents were cool and listened to rock on the AM station. My Mom listened to country which was not cool and my Dad listened to jazz or classical, another not cool. Now there is another word "cool"

Chicken Man had some cool sayings but I can't remember them.

I wasn't a teenager until November 69 but I do remember
"Hey Man"
"Man that's a bummer"

OMG, what other albuns do you still have? My sister has a bunch of 45s from the 60s and 70s, but nothing to play them on!

Anyone ever say, "go suck a roach?"
My siblings and I use to. Because I thought it literally meant a nasty insect, makes it gross, huh?
Just recently, I learned what a "roach" was (in terms of smoking weed)... I don't think my parents knew what it means, either... or, was I correct when I thought it referred to the creepy, crawling things that can make a jittery soul jump up on a chair? You know, those huge tree roaches that fly.

"Roach" was what you said when you let gas, and "pokes" was what the others, who got to enjoy the effects of the explosion between your legs, said right before they knocked a knot in your upper arm, big enough to stop blood from getting to your hand.

How about 'slug bug,' another term shouted out right before slugging or getting slugged, when a Volkswagon Beetle was in sight.

I've heard suck a roach and I think you're right about it being weed.

I've never heard the other ones you mentioned roach, pokes, or slug bug. Where were you raised?
