Chatty, I haven't had a garden for a few years now, which I miss terribly. I didn't have the energy anymore to tend to a big garden. I usually had allot of canning to do also. I still have my asparagus bed and a few herbs that I grow though. But here as of late, I have been thinking of putting out a small manageable garden because I do miss the fresh vegetables. Going to the farmers' market isn't the same, nor taste as fresh as going straight to the garden.

The kohlrabi are easy to grow. We always liked the white Vienna variety to grow. The pkt. of seeds can be bought at most stores and seed catalogs. You can also buy the little plants at some garden centers. We grow them to the size of a medium tomato and eat them raw. If they get too big, they are tough, dried out, and taste woody.
