Hi Ladies,

I feel like it has been ages since I posted. I have spent the last 9 days in nicotine withdrawl. I finally quit, and to be honest it has been pretty challenging. Since I smoked a great deal while working on my laptop, I took a bit of a step back from the laptop this past week and started some new routines.

So, I'm back and have been enjoying reading what everyone has been buzzing about during the last week. Nice to know there is always a place to come back to!

You rock! I quit like 5 or 7 years ago...can't remember. Just laid the suckers down...wait, they were just cigs...I WAS THE SUCKER!

Anyhoo, please remember it may take a few months to get all of this poison out of your system, but it will happen. Just hang in there.

I'm so happy for you!

That is absolutely wonderful! I've never smoked, but understand it's awfully hard to quit. Wishing you nothing but the best with this.

Keep at it. You might make more new friends....Not kiddin'.
At least you won't be an outcast in smoking zone when it rains, snows, etc. How do smokers stand that???

I've never smoked so it probably explains my strong sensitivity to any suggestion of cigarette smoke in the air...

How's it going, hotflashgal?

I remember that no matter how hard I tried, I could not seem to kick my heavy duty 27 year habit. Then one day something clicked, and I decided to try to do it, one day at a time. I knew in my heart if I ever picked up another cigarette, I'd have to start the whole torturous process all over again. So I started my quitting process on Feb 12, 1993 ....and so far so good. The first week I cut up plastic straws into cigarette size and did deep breathing through them while drinking coffee and doing 100 other things. I looked pretty funny.

I cried a lot and the first couple weeks were very difficult. I was surprised after a time that things got easier.

My husband tried dozens of times to quit, and my methodology wasn't his thing. One night he came home from a group hypnotist session and said he was now a non-smoker. Secretly I thought , "No way!" That was 9 years ago and he has never smoked since.

Everyone has a way which will work for them. I have no idea what your way is, but I wish you every success!!!! My prayers are with you!

Josie....it has been VERY difficult. I have not been posting or blogging at all. I used to smoke while I would write and I have been staying away. I have very low energy and I am more tired. Like you mentioned, I have been crying a lot. Hearing you say it made me feel better because I have been thinking I am losing my mind.

I am now in day 17 and this is much worse than I expected. Tonight I had a big fight with my husband which really made me want to run to the nearest Wawa and grab a pack, but I didn't.

Ok...enough moaning. Thanks for asking.

Eileen

As JJ said, in a few months, you will feel so much better about yourself. Just hang in there, drink lots of water, and try to eat lots of green & red veggies to help your body cope w/ the toxins. We're all rootin for ya.
