My head is pretty much in the sand when it comes to movies. My son rented Crash, watched it alone and shared that he thought I would like it. So last night Ross and I watched it withour really knowing what it was about.

WOW! I loved it. As my son expected, I cried.

What an eye opener. Has anyone seen it?

I'd love to chat about it, but don't want to give anything away.

I felt it was one of the most inspiring movies I've seen. The acting is wonderful and how we are all connected in some way is astounding. It makes you really think after watching it.

What a wake up call! Of course, had no idea what the movie was about thinking it was about a bunch of cars of the Interstate who "crash" into each other
This is a totally different way of "crashing" into each other, and I must say it really opens up your eyes. Anyway, it did mine.
I bought the DVD to watch again.
Very impressive movie!

I also assumed it was about fast cars and crashing! Thanks for the recommendation. It's hard to find decent movies to watch. I'll check this one out.
Tonight, we're taking the kids to see Ice Age II.
Hope has never been to the movies and the other two haven't been since 2003!

It's one that I intend to buy eventually. I just finished watching Brokeback Mountain and I'm depressed! I thought it was a very sad movie but the scenery was wonderful.

We loved Crash....so interesting!

Watch it again and again (the dvd) because each time
you watch it, you'll pick up things you did not pick
up or perceive the first time you saw it.

This is a movie that moves everyone who watches it
in one way or another.

So glad to hear everyone in hear appreciated Crash.

Bluebird, you must watch it.

We have so many preconceived notions about nationalities. It's amazing and a shame.

A little girl at our local high school just won a national photo contest. She's Asian and she took all these pictures of herself that had to do with Asian stereotypes. For one she painted her face yellow, another, she dressed in a doctor's outfit. Those types of things. I thought it was a clever idea. I'm so glad she won!

As many of you know, I have two adopted children from Korea so I am very tuned in to racial issues. I think that's another reason I loved Crash so much.

Dotsie, the more I travel to different countries
or different states, the more I find that we
humans are so much alike no matter what.

Due to my parents being in the military, I
traveled since birth and was used to any type
of "diversity" from an early age. Therefore,
early on it bothered me to hear of any type of
racism.

Like you, I pay attention to racial issues more
or less. In addition, here in Hawaii there is
alot of diversity due to our ancestors coming
from Europe, Asia and the Pacific.

Intermarriage is the norm here; my grandkids know
better than to ask me what nationalities they have
in them...takes me a long time to answer LOL!
