I couldn't put it down and just finished so I can do other things again, like post about it. It's a little over 400 pages and a fast read. I've read all of her books. Just love them.

Sounds like a good book, Saundra. I love a book that you can't put down. smile I haven't read any of her books, but I will have to scope out her books at the library next time I'm there. I'm always on the look out for a new book/author.

Recently, I read Wally Lamb's latest book, The Hour I First Believed, .....awful, awful! It was about 700 pages or so. I was so disappointed in this book. frown I really liked his other books so this latest book was a real let down. I could hardly get through it.

I really love Patricia Cornwwell. I just finished reading "Book of the Dead" just this morning.

I just want to know one thing Saundra...Does this book "Scarpetta" mention what happened to Marino? The "Book of the Dead" left me with this cliffhanger. You don't have to give me details, I just want to know if they mention what happened to him.

Patricia Cornwell is someone I would love to see here as the Featured Author.

Cheers,
Cathi

Oh, yes, WL, it all gets cleared up and yes, I was surprised (as always).

Cookie, it's best to start with the first book about Scarpetta so you understand her family's dynamics and her men problems, like she's a real girl. And you get a lot of Italian cooking tips, too.

Thanks Saundra, I feel better now, LOL.

I like her stories because I do not live too far from where the stories use to take place. I would be interested to see a movie or series based on the Scarpetta novels. Unless that has already been done and I didn't know about it.

Cheers,
Cathi

It hasn't been done yet, Cathi. People have talked to her but I guess it wasn't the right fit.

I don't blame her, many times I have been disappointed with the movie after I've read the book.

The same went for plays, the movie was always different and usually centered on whatever celebrity would play the key roles.

I guess I can see her point!

I've been disappointed, too. The DaVinci Code was one of them and now the producers are doing Demons and Angels, another great Dan Brown book.

Avid readers are a low percent of the population and if the theater audience hasn't read the book they don't know the story.

Hey, I understand that Angelena Jolie has signed on to do a Kay Scarpetta character movie. Not certain which book, most probably an amalgram.

I really, really hope Angelina Jolie is not being cast as Kay Scarpetta; a bigger mismatch of book character and actress is hard to me to come up with. It'll be ruined right off the bat and I like the books.
