The spicyness Lionspaaw...if not wanting as much spicey flavor you can use black or even white pepper.

Isn't red pepper sweeter than black?

I think that crushed red pepper is hotter than black pepper. I've never had white pepper.

Red pepper is "hotter" than black or white pepper. White and black are the same exactly but chefs use white when not wanting little black specks in their creations.....Neither red, black or white pepper is sweet....

Chatty -- where do you get those realllly cool sayings at the end of your posts ????

sorry -- got side tracked by the pro/amateur thingie

I never knew there was white pepper -- but it certainly makes sense that there would be some !

Is there something I can use to help me get away from my salt addiction ???

Lionspaaw oh Lordy YES there are many things but I depend solely on Mrs. Dash seasonings, there are like 13 of them. They are delicious and I use them no holds barred. I haven't had salt in my home for over 20 years now and never use salt when I cook and no one has ever complained about my food. They can add it if they choose to just not in my home, don't have any. I use garlic and onion powder and lots of fresh garlic and butter and fresh herbs. Buy a herb book and it'll tell you what herbs are good with what foods. I experiment....If you do use any salt use Kosher salt or Sea salt they're less processed.

Have you tried any of the new silicone cookware? It's amazing. I used my one pan last night to make meatloaf. It just rinses off.
