I'm having one of theose mornings where the dark mood is settling in and I can only see the half-empty part of the glass...I spent all weekend doing things everybody else needed and feel really cheated because now it is Monday morning again! I feel like a small animal in a box with no air holes... [Frown]

hey Julie - I've been having quite a few of those weekends too. Then I realized I desparately needed some "me" time or I was going to explode - so a couple of weekends ago, I did something different, just for me for a change - I called my mom and went out for coffee and desert and just had a special couple of hours. Nothing much, but a little bit of time carved out for me.

I'm trying to get housework done on Friday evenings too, so that I'm not doing it all weekend. And for the summer, I've dropped a lot of commitments/volunteer work for some much needed down time.

hugs and hope you can find some "you time" next weekend [Smile]

Evie, so nice to hear from you - thanks for the hugs. Written any poetry lately?

I'm a firm believer in taking care of ourselves. The older the kids get, the easier it is.

Julie, can you get a babysitter to care for your daughter and take a Saturday off to do what you want to do?

Evie, coffee and dessert with your mom sounds perfect.

I wish my mom was still around. She's been gone 3 1/2 years. [Frown]

Enjoy the heck out of your mom while you can. [Wink]

Hi Julie - you asked if I'd written any poetry lately...

Aa a matter of fact, I've been very busy putting together a poetry/devotional book that my church is going to sell as a fundraiser for our altar guild. Its at the printers now, and I should be picking it up next week - and then we're going to have an official "book launch" on the 18th [Smile]

Dotsie, its true that once the kids get older, finding me time gets easier.....its hard when they are little and you think thats going to be your whole life forever to realize that one day you'll have time to yourself again.

thanks Julie [Smile]

for a little "taste", go to www.lookingupmagaine.com/article2. htm "Sunday Ritual" is one of the stories I put in the book...

I just hope they sell them all, and the church doesn't get stuck with the cost of printing!
