Something borrowed, something blue and so goes the sweet verse instructing brides on what to include for their wedding day attire.

When I stop to think about it, I had everything covered except something borrowed.

Did any one else follow this wedding day edict?

Bluebird, that's so funny!!! But it seems, when did you ever not? How blessed are you?

Yes, I did follow this wedding edict. As all of them. My Mother was from the South. We followed all edicts. I have posted this before, I think, but I was required to set out my clothes the night before. And on the day, to take a bath, a nap, and eat a "little something" so as not to pig out on the date or the wedding!!! Straight out of Gone With the Wind ---well, it wasn't so gone! But I loved it and will never forget!!

Oh Bluebird how funny, you bad girl you....

My something OLD was a crucifix from my Mother...

Something NEW was my dress from my Grandmother, she crocheted and knitted it.....

Something BORROWED, well that would have been my husband to be. Borrowed him from his old girlfriend one night and never gave him back..long story!

Something BLUE was my diamond engagement ring, it had a light blue stone....

Bluebird you do get the laughs lady!

Chatty, that was sweet. You said the stone was blue, was it topaz or sapphire?

I hold my breath sometimes remembering my engagement, our wedding shower and our wedding. I felt in those days like a fairy Princess, surrounded by nothing but beauty and love. I looked so special that day because of the exhausting and intrigate work done by my Grandmother for months on my handmade gown covered with crocheted and knitted silk and pearls and the flowing pearl dotted veil.....
I only wish my one true love could have been here to share the beautiful life we began together so many years ago...

[Frown] I thought it might be bittersweet to think back on that day.

I'll bet you were a gorgeous bride Chatty. Were you excited or nervous on your wedding day?

I was pretty calm I think because I knew I was doing the right thing.
