Unfortunaqtely I haven't experienced any acts of random kindness by anyone lately. I have seen some of the rudest people out there, road rage is terrible with lewd gestrures and swearing at the top of ones voice. Men seem to have lost trheir minds making crude gesures to women or just plain sexually harassing women out and about. It's as if we have all lost our minds. The nly place I feel safe anymore is in church and then the road rage still happens in the parking lots. Geesh, God must be disappointed!

I did experience a random act of kindness the other day, so I'll share it here:

As I came out of the grocery store with my full cart I realized that it had become quite windy. I didn't think much about it until I had the trunk lid open and was trying to load the sacks in... Then I figured out that the wind was coming at exactly the right angle that it was causing the trunk to try to close on me - specifically on my head.

I was trying to figure out how to keep the trunk lid open, as I loaded it, when suddenly the back door of the car next to me opened, and a kid got out and came over and offered to hold the truck lid for me.

I had only noted there was a dog in the front seat, I hadn't seen the kid in the back. But I sure did appreciate the help!

I'm glad you shared that story. What a sweet thing to do. I think there are lots of wonderful people around, but bad guys capture headlines. Pirates and shooters, rapists and looters get attention.

Great story Anne, hopefully others here have had some 'random act of kindness' or seen one and will share it here with us. I keep my eyes open but so far not so good...

I suppose this could count...we went to the salvation army store yesterday (charity thrift store). Hubby took his bag of watch batteries, and spent over an hour in the store changing all the batteries in the watches on sale there. None of them worked before he started, almost all of them (~25) worked after he replaced the batteries. He ended up buying 8 of them (he takes them to Cuba to give away), and left the rest there, with the new batteries still ticking away in them. What a sweetie!
