I am not sure if this is the correct place to post this....

I was in Wal-Mart last week & one of the employees came running down the aisle. She was yelling to two other employees that she got the money together for the coat.

There was a homeless woman who tried to steal a winter jacket & security stopped her. The employees collected money & paid for a jacket for the woman.

How many people would have turned their heads in the other direction & went along their way?

In this rather negative holiday season for myself, there was one bright spot.

KAY B,

So glad you've chosen to share this with us. It is a beautiful tribute to the people involved there and also a great reminder to us all to open our hearts and help those less fortunate. They are all around us. There is so much joy in giving.

What a very generous gesture on the part of those WalMart employees! It just goes to show us all that there are still many good people out there.

This is so refreshing to read, especially since I saw the documentary The High Cost of Low Price a few weeks ago. I've had a very bad taste in my mouth for Wal*Mart. I need to remember that it's not the employees who make the corporate decisions.

I saw that special about WM too....there are so many other companies out there doing the same thing to their employees. But it isn't spread across the news on a semi regular basis.

I have read other stories about WM employees doing something of the like that I witnessed...but you never knew if it was for publicity thru WM's main office.

I have mixed feelings about WM. From what I've heard, their benefits and pay are comparable or better than most retail jobs. Traditionally, retail pays less than other jobs.

They also contributed a lot of money to the Katrina victims and I heard that it was easier to find something from WM than FEMA.

My main concern is that most of their mdse. comes from China. Not good. The American workforce have priced themselves out of a job. At the same time, our economy is extremely strong with the unemployment rate at a historic low. Go figure. It's beyond my understanding.
