Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Festivus, etc! - 12/19/14 07:44 PM

As the holidays are happily upon us, I want to wish all of you wonderful women of the Boomer Women speak forum -- and your loved ones -- a delightful December holiday season and a New Year full of joy, peace and prosperity.

Yesterday, NABBW's Retirement Planning Associate, Pamela J. Sams, CRPC, and I sat down for an hour and talked about how we Baby Boomers will continue to affect the economy, going forward. (We all know we've had a huge - and mostly positive - impact on it from the start, but there's been some backlash from the younger generations recently, accusing us of greed and destroying the economy. Also claims that our retirement will bankrupt the country -- or at least Social Security.

I realize that as we head into our multi-generational family gatherings this month, there may be some heated discussions about this - and the economy -- around the dinner tables.

With that in mind, I bring you a recording of this call, to give you ammunition should you get into a discussion of this nature -- so that you can educate, inform, and keep the peace. Something we all wish for at these family gatherings!

So whether you celebrate Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwaanza, Festivis, Winter Solstice, or something else, you'll be prepared:

It seems to me that each generation is blaming the previous one for the destruction of our environment. Mother Earth's carrying capacity has a limit, and one we are perilously close to reaching.
