Experts doth detest....?

I ran into flak for writing this poem: 1/11/11 #210293, "Ask An Expert." Ever since, I've been feeling the need to explain what prompted that poem. Here it is: The fingernails on my left hand have vertical cracks from the extreme short, acutely concave tips up to the cuticles. I consulted the net. A nail salon owner and supposed expert advised coating the nails with Vaseline and wearing disposable gloves at night. I did that for over a year, until Di advised otherwise. All the nails on my left hand got worse using the on-line, so-called "expert's" advise. Now I'm having a terrible time attempting to heal the damage. Hope this explains my negativity, prompting some members' adverse vibes.

There are no rules I am aware of for the poems we choose to write. I can't imagine anyone complaining, especially anyone never writing a poem. Oh well, go figure!!!

As for the adverse reactions, I realize that we do not necessarily need to agree with each post; still we respect each others' opinion and right to post as they see fit.

Just felt the need to explain why I said what I did! Don't intend to offend anybody! I respect well-educated people and think the mis-information came from someone who is probably more self-proclaimed than well-read! LOL...

So sorry you're having trouble, jabber, but experts and advice-givers are everywhere, and half the time they're just trying to sell you something. We have all been led down the wrong path, or just mistaken, or failed to check whether that expert really was one.

Hope you get relief soon.

That's cool; I know it happens to everybody. But that day [1/ll/11] I was in a bum mood and it showed. I'll keep trying to heal the nails on my left hand. Thus far, they're not doing so good. But I never give up! Prayers and blessings, Ellemm!!!

I had no idea about your nails, Jabber. Being left handed, that would be really aggrevating for me.

At the moment, I have no idea what to suggest. I expect you have already consulted a doctor...

Oh, how sweet! I'm putting Shea's Butter on them and using lip balm, as well. My right hand nails are doing fine; it's just the left hand, and every one has that concave, vertical split all the way up. But I'm sure they'll heal in time. I totally appreciate all your kindness!
