Consignment - 10/23/11 01:34 AM

Last weekend I went to a gigantic consignment sale of baby items here in the Pacific Northwest, hosted by Just Between Friends. We bought a bouncy thing, 3-tier wooden bookshelf, nice diaper bag, three pairs of shoes, five outfits, and some other small items and only spent $100. Everything was nice and clean and in perfect working order. My online research revealed that this organization holds similar sales in two dozen states at different times of the year. It might be worth investigating.

Sounds like a great opportunity for those who no longer need certain baby care items and those who do. Thanks for letting us know about it!

Looks like New York isn't part of the program. But perhaps "Just Between Friends" will mushroom into every state. Consignments are worth investigating! IMHO!

A local church has a program very similar to this. I don't need baby items, and no of no one else who does, either. Need one for grannies with older grandchildren... walkers, teeth cleaners, cute men in tight shorts, travel tickets to bus tours... you get my drift.

The other option is for a mother to get hooked in a network of mothers...they give up the baby clothing and toys...for free.

One of my sisters got alot of stuff from 2 other sisters and less than 10 mother-friends, a pile of toys, books and clothing in great condition.

I was visiting, and tripping over toys of which 75% of those toys were from other families.

My sister pleads me not to buy any more take-apart toys with parts. Too much stuff lying around..for 2 little toddlers.
