Birthday blues

Birthday blues - 10/01/03 03:56 AM

I turned 43 yesterday. I had lots of good things in my day - breakfast in bed, cuddles from my daughter, flowers delivered to my workplace from hubby, great lunch with colleagues, dinner cooked by my sons, new books to read...

Why do I feel blue??

Julie,
Take heart and congrats! No matter what one feels, it beats the alternative! Now...I think as we grow older, birthdays become bittersweet sometimes and we almost feel like there isn't enough time left to complete all the dreams we have, so even though we have a great b/day, we still have nagging feelings of unfinished business while time seems to be slipping away.

Then again, sometimes, when we have a great b/day, it is like an Elvis concert...you enjoy every minute of it, but when it's over you think "is that all there is?"

This is just a stab at answering your question, but hey, what do I know? Wait a minute...I know everything...I'm a Queen for Pete's sake. [Wink]

Thanks for the encouraging words...I think you nailed it by saying time is slipping away...no time to do the important things. What I really needed for my birthday was some extra hours.
