poem a child cries - 01/18/05 07:09 AM
A child cries
Once a fighter entering this world ready to make her presence known.
A child cries
You look for arms to hold you and keep you safe, a parent’s trust soon blown.
A child cries
Growing up in a world so new
A child cries
Receiving the touch of a stranger that’s bad, a mom’s denial makes the child sad
A child cries
Innocence lost no future or hope now makes the life of the adult hard to cope
A child dies
A life of a woman who knows no trust, looks for love, trust and safety wherever she can.
A woman cries.
Finding a man whose eye will be blue she’ll know when she sees him their love will be true.
A woman hopes
For now alone and sad, a woman only copes.
