I've enjoyed this pop-up/spyware/adware blocker for a while now, so far.

If someone's having these types of issues, here's the link:

http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/default.mspx

Be sure to uninstall your current one first.

Hey, new topic! Does anyone know how to create a copywrite symbol? I see it on sites, but I don't see a key for it. I just today found the ~ key. When I was in high school, the counselor wanted to know why I wasn't going to take typing. I said, "Because I am going to college." He said, "You don't think you'll have to type papers in college?" So, I took the class. Now, these many, many years later, I am so glad I did. I see my husband use the 1-2 fingers approach, and it's just not as efficient! Knowing how to type got me lots of jobs. To think I was "afraid" to learn word processing. Now I don't know how to work without it! Love and Light, Lynn

Programs (or All Programs) > Accessories > System tools > Character map.

Here are a few of the many symbols:

© @ ® ♀ ¶ ^ ± ¢

plus the complete alphabet in Hebrew, Greek and Arabic.

I love this new thread. My computer and I have a love/hate relationship. I know very little about it or how it works...when it does. I just had my computer guy out again yesterday because the dumb thing crashed again. Seems I have a bad floppy disk drive. Whatever. If this thing crashes one more time, it's history.

Thanks mer: first I have to find the program thingy. Maybe it's in my preferences. Also, miss merry, thanks for submitting an email via my site. I moved the guest book up the page a bit because it was hidden. Dianne, my husband had been enouraging me for years to get a new computer. I resisted, because the old one midwifed my book. Finally, I realized I was dealing with a dinosaur of a computer, and we got me an iBook G4 laptop. Wowie, zowie, what a difference it makes in performance and saving time. LLL

Programs are in my Start menu, you know, the Start button at the bottom left corner of the toolbar. If you're not running Windows, my entire answer may not apply.

Meredith, is there a way to get there while your using word processor without going through the start menu?

Dianne, I've never tried and I honestly don't know. I have WordPerfect and MS Word since August, and still don't know half their features. The start menu is so easy, though.

Dianne, In MS Word, drop down [Insert]. Make sure the whole thing drops down. Click symbol. A whole table shows up. Do you have the little help guy? (Mine looks like Einstein) You can type your question into his 'help box'. That's what I did and it told me to go to [Insert]. It depends on which version of Windows you have. They are similar, but not identical. (Mine's old [Frown] 98)

Hmm, I have word on a mac, so not windows. Maybe I'll ask the little help guy for the copyright key. Help, help help! I am old and stupid. I inserted a blog page into my site. However, I do not know how I go about typing and publishing. The host server got this b2 blogger plug in from an outside source, and has no means of answering questions as to how to use the blogger. How do you enter your blog pages? LLL
