avocado...?

Asked google and verizon this question: Is avocado a fruit or a vegetable? Both gave different answers. First it's a fruit.
Second it's a vegetable. What say you???

Hey Jabber, I don't know but here's what I think I recall from science classes in school. The avocado has a large pit in it, just like a peach, plum or other "stone fruit." So from that point of view, it is a fruit. But it's not juicy and sweet like a fruit -- and it's green -- so we tend to categorize it as a veggie.

Now don't go asking me what a strawberry is, given that its seeds are on the outside...

Technically, it's a fruit, just like a tomato is a fruit.
