Boomer Women Speak October-November Writing Contest

My Favorite Thanksgiving Memory

Ah, remember the smells of Thanksgiving? Those pumpkin pies baking in the oven, the turkey and dressing, the DESSERTS! Or maybe your favorite memory isn't food at all. Does it include lively "after dinner" conversations and stories that seem to take on a life of their own? Do they seem to grow with each passing year?

Let yourself wander back to the tradition of family dinners and tall tales. Give us your favorite Thanksgiving memory. Paint us a picture with words that will have our mouths watering and hearts full of family, friends, and fun. Send us your story by entering our contest and win prizes!

Please read and follow the guidelines below and good luck!

GUIDELINES:

Please pay attention to these simple but important guidelines:

Submit an essay in a WORD document as an attachment. NOT in the body of email.

Your submission must have a TITLE.

Edit your work. If edits are needed, the entry will be deleted. SEND YOUR BEST AND FINAL!

Word count should be below 800. Use 1.5 spacing between LINES. Put ONE space between the each sentence. (This means when you end a sentence, put ONE space after the period before you begin the next sentence)

Make sure to include your NAME, EMAIL ADDRESS, and SHORT BIO at the TOP of the essay, not in the email message.

In the Subject line, write "OCT-NOV Writing Contest."

Submit entries to Georgia at georgia@boomerwomenspeak.com. ONE entry per person, please.
