Oh, what a lovely poem. Thanks for sharing. On the subject of pets, I thought I'd just interject my strange fascination with a new pet snail. (We have dogs, too, who I love). But we have a tropical fish tank, and I'm finding myself mesmerized by two snails we added. A couple weeks ago, they got really chummy. I guessed they were being discreetly carnal. Then one hunkered down (the girl, I guessed, who was nesting maybe), while the other dashed up the wall (such a guy) and had a cigarette. The girl stayed glued to her spot for over two weeks. I thought she was dying. Today got really active. It's just so darn dramatic. Perhaps you're wondering if I have a life. I'm just waiting for the call for submissions to the new book, The Ultimate Snail Lover.

How hilarious! Your life sounds like my own. You know....you could write a children's book based on the life of Mr. and Mrs. Snail's Mail...or Mr. and Mrs. Snail's Tales, or---okay, I know...I am the one who needs to get a life! LOL!
