I just realized we didn't keep it to four lines. Sorry. Missed
that rule. After I get this current manuscript completed, we'll
have to try a new game. Will attempt to stick to the rules better the next time. Promise!

Though in Vegas we have no winter to speak of to injure our dogies feet,
but in summer we must watch closely due to the horrific heat.

I have seen dogs come into the shelter with feet burned so bad,
they had trouble even standing, heat burned away their pads.

It seems there is no middle ground, it's either too hot or too cold,
we must be ever vigilent and heed what we are told.

I had my patio enclosed with latice and a gate,
It keeps other animals out and Sassy inside and safe.

Ever notice when it's cold people piss and moan,
then the blistering heat arrives and all we do is groan.

There must be somewhere on earth where it's nice out all year around,
but then only a few could afford to live there with money that knows no bounds.

That isn't me, and it isn't you so our fate we must endure,
better above ground complaining than the opposite, that's for sure!!!!

Chatty, no matter the weather you are so right,
We want something else, day and night.

Never thought about heat, burning a dog's pad,
That'd be heartbreaking and oh so sad.

Don't think it gets that hot here,
No matter what the season of year.

But will be sure to protect,
Each and every sweet, sweet pet!

Yesterday was April fools day yet no one played a prank,
I wasn't disappointed, not the least upset, heart never sank.

Some of folks jokes can be nasty and cruel,
making the person they play them upon look like a fool.

I am not against jokes per say,
but hope people are kinder and watch what they play.

So maybe next year some fun might occur,
but if ones played on me I want common sense used for sure.

SPINNING FOR FOOLS

Wheel Of Fortune's puzzles, April Fools' day,
Put the word "fool" in every game played.

One out of three players, caught on real fast,
She took home the money, the rest had a blast.

Didn't pull a joke on anyone this year,
Last April lst, spoofed my birthday was here.

It wasn't of course but some folks' believed,
The prank was real and were totally deceived.

Suspect those really born April Fools' day,
Think that isn't, such a funny thing to say.

Transmitted from Vegas the CMA awards,
Came from two nightclubs everybody adores.

Love that Ms. Reba, and always have,
Plus Blake Shelton is a cute, charming lad.

Watched the first hour, then went to bed,
Shall view what I taped, when by the spirit I'm led.

The location where you live, Chatty my dear,
Has as much charisma as a Rhinestone cowboy's gear!

Charisma and charm and lots of entertainment,
hard to stay at home nights keeping spirits in containment.

When first moving here, knowing no fear,
felt I had to go out every night of the year.

I ran myself rsgged, spent money like crazy,
then at work the next day people thought I was lazy.

I soon settled down and took Vegas in stride,
knowing I had been on a disasterous ride.

But that was year one and since it's been quiet,
to get me onto that strip it nearly takes a riot.

I live here in Vegas just like in Illinois,
working, going to church and loving my boys.

Anywhere is what you make it, but right now to me,
the weather, health and family is what matters, what I see.

My wild oats are all sown, my basket is bare,
I am happy as a lark about life today, haven't got a care!

Glad to know you're happy, my dear,
Methinks we all settle down when saddle with years.

Happy and content myself, it doth seem,
Working to fulfill destiny's dream.

Boomer women have lots in common, I've learned,
God, country, and family being their main concern.

Whether residing East, West, North, or South,
If we're content, we're blessed no doubt!

CRAZY WEEK

First I was up, then I was down,
the brain in my head feels like it's spinning around.

A friend is in treatment for two separate diseases,
no matter what 'we' have planned, God calls us home when He pleases.

I suppose no use crying over spilt cream,
hold our heads up high and take one for the team.

Doesn't pay to make plans too far ahead,
might be alive today and tomorrow you're dead.

Don't mean to sound maudlin, don't mean to sound low,
but after the week I've had, how I should feel, I don't know.......

THEY'RE BACK

Look out my window and what do I see,
Some darlin' feathered friends, two or three.

They're bouncing on the lawn, so gleefully,
Returning once again to keep me company.

These tiny pals, they're telling me this,
We're here ushering in a great, big wish.

Spring and warm weather aren't that far away,
Robin redbreasts are back for their usual stay.
