No Wind In My Sails
Don't know when new poetry will begin,
Heartache and pain I take on the chin.
Somewhere along, the tides of time,
I've lost the will, to find words that rhyme.
If any of you, write poetry of color,
Perhaps then my will, I'll soon rediscover.
Whatever it was, I used to do,
When I wrote poems and didn't feel so blue!

Motion is lotion physical therapists say,
Exercise, exercise each'n every day.
Strengthenin' a body is wise plus you'll find,
Deepening knowledge will sharpen the mind.
Sittin' on a sofa listenin' to The View,
Of TV and screen stars isn't much help to you.
Motion is lotion I believe in my heart,
If you're not exercisin', here's hopin' you'll start!

Rocky Top, Sevierville, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Provide panoramic eye-candy for all visitors to gorge. Rest 'n relaxation are here, in the mountains of Tennessee, Tons of enjoyment can be found for the entire family!

OCTOBER WARMTH
It's beautiful in Western New York today,
Feeling more like July than October anyway.
A sweet, warm breeze is brushing my face,
While walking the dogs in the usual place.
Thermometers indicate 50 plus degrees,
There's a bright sun, clear sky, and colorful leaves.
Our long-range forecast 'tis awesome to view,
I suspect warm days are precious'n few.
Soon we'll have temps dipping real,real low,
'N some of us 'll be looking at piles of snow.
So Father hone my spirit to breathe it all in,
And thanks for your provisions, again and again.

Train Whistle
Love that sweet, sweet sound we hear,
Of a freight train rolling, far or near.
A distant whistle blowing, soothes the soul,
Like a long, lost friend of long, long ago.
A railway runs through the valley below,
Thus, boxcars are clattering when they roll'n roll.
Train whistles seemingly remind me of,
The omnipresent power of our God of love.
Locomotives'n The Lord spark peaceful ponders,
Of grandeur, eternity, and heavenly wanders.

The Shepherd's Way
'Twas on a road the other day,
It's moniker read, The Shepherd's Way.
Word association being what it is,
Began thinking 'bout all that's really HIS.
Contemplating creation overloads the brain,
For much of what we see isn't easily explained.
Thoughts aplenty may ticker tape the mind,
For God's great love is encompassingly kind.
Walk through this world The Shepherd's way,
And grace 'll follow The Word doth say.

After I get this current manuscript finished, I'd like to start a new game where 4 words are given and we make a poem from them.
That was such fun!
Isn't poetry like music to the soul?
