I don't personally have any "tats," as I've heard them called, but I've got nothing against them.

I've also seen some people with beautiful skin decorations, and I admire their decision to have this work done. I have no idea how it will look 50 years from now, but that's not my problem.

That said, I have a link here to some bad tattoos that I thought I'd share with you.

What I want to know is, who is/was at fault when these (mostly spelling) errors happen? The tattoo artist, or the person who requests the work?

I hope some of these will bring a smile, as you ask yourself, "What were they thinking?"

I don't like tattoos at all and think they look like graffiti. And I don't admire people for doing something that everyone else is doing. To me, that's a lot of money down the drain.

BUT, that's not my decision to make. I never comment on anyone's tattoos, either positively or negatively; not my business. I have to assume that the truly bad and misspelled tattoos result when neither the customer nor the tattoo artist know how to spell.

I don't comment either. I just talk about how great shea butter is on them!

Well I'm chicken. It looks like it hurts. Had my ears pierced when I was age 29. Just one piercing on each side. That was enough for me. I've seen some people with piercings all the way up the side of the ear. No thanks; that looks like it hurts, too. My Italian granddaughter is into tats. But I'm not big on pain.

I intend to get a tattoo when I beat this cancer in celebration of beating it.

Sounds like a fascinating plan, Yonuh. What made you think of this as a celebration marker, and what will your tattoo be of?

When my boys were here they suggested we all go get a tattoo in solidarity, but my immune system wasn't strong enough for an assault of that magnitude. I don't know what the tattoo will be. My boys each have a couple, mostly Native American themed, so we haven't decided what we'll have. But it will be something celebratory.

I like that concept! Thanks for sharing your plan. Glad your boys are thinking solidarity. The more brains you have thinking positive thoughts on your behalf, the better IMHO.

Well, yonuh, that's a great thing to do. I love positive thinking and celebrating hill-climbing events. You go girl!
