The potential for a sea change in so many fields and industries, as a result of 3-D printing is out there, as these 10 small homes built in a day clearly show.

I haven't made time to really think what this could mean, but the other day I was telling my husband that the 3-D printer potential brings to mind the old "Star Trek food replicators." Remember those?

Here's a recent article that discusses using a 3-D printer to create pizza for astronauts.

And of course, if we can print food and housing, what else might we be able to print? Clothing? Done that: Check out this bikini.

Cars or car parts? According to Jay Leno, that's been done too.

Fuel? Well who knows. Here's a Huff Post article that discusses a lot of amazing uses for these printers. (Including replacement bone and other body parts.)

Just think what these printers could do in 3rd world countries.

Our favorite local channel did a report on a company around here that uses these 3-D printers. It's really mind-blowing.
Making additive manufacturing products of virtually any shape
is almost beyond comprehension.

They are amazing. I've seen where they printed out hands and arms for kids. This could revolutionize the prosthetic industry.
