For me, a Midwest girl, it's finally truly summer when we can buy locally grown corn. We had a cool, wet spring, so I was thinking that I might not taste the wonder of corn picked the same day I eat it until August.

Delightfully I was wrong, and we started enjoying Fincel's Sweet Corn this week.

And here's the next thing I will be using it to make: Corn Soup! With the recipe courtesy of PureWow.com

I hope there's some local corn in your future, if you haven't already indulged!

Never heard of corn soup but have had corn chowder. It's probably the same thing. WB and I had fresh corn tonight. I got it from a little roadside stand down on Route 16, a main highway a couple miles away. Just bought a microwave corn steamer. Works great. Got it out of one of those Harriet Carter catalogs. Bought a hurricane spin mop, too, and that's a bunch of bologna. Don't like that at all.

I love corn on the cob! I don't like it so much in soups though. Jabber, that corn steamer sounds pretty good. We bought that Potato Express, and it works really well! Haven't used it for anything except potatoes, though, but I think it's supposed to work for corn, too.
