No way I thought you were doing anything other than you intended.
Just wanted to make sure I was in tune with site administrators.
It's all good. Everything is cool.

I do remember being in primary school where some classes were in portables. The school simply wasn't big enough. And I remember in kindergarten or maybe gr.1 when the theatre across from our apartment, was showing "The Sound of Music" for many months.

I didn't see that movie until I was in my late 20's or so. We were too poor to see a movie at that time. Besides I think there were certain historical references in Sound of Music that would have been waaaay beyond a child.

I'd forgotten about those portable classrooms, Orchid! Thanks for the fun memory.

So did anyone beside me catch the PBS show? It wasn't quite what I'd thought it would be, but each of the monologues was fascinating and I learned things about the presenters' lives.

Our PBS station has been off the air for over 2 weeks. It's very frustrating. They supposedly are having equipment problems.

Wow Yonuh -- and it seems like it's close to their annual fundraising time...

Anyway, if you missed the show but are interested in the identities of the 19 baby boomers profiled (one for each year) here is a useful link.

Apparently the Newseum in Washington DC, that museum dedicated to the media, has a new related exhibit that lets visitors relive historic 1946-1964 moments via the profile photos used on the NPR program, all of which were shot by photographer Timothy Greenfield-Sanders.

The officially profiled Baby Boomers include:
• Tim O’Brien, a Vietnam veteran and author, born in 1946;
• Deepak Chopra, the New Age guru, born in 1947;
• Samuel L. Jackson, actor and pitchman, born in 1948;
• Billy Joel, the singer and songwriter, born in 1949;
• Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple Computer, born in 1950;
• Tommy Hilfiger, the fashion designer, born in 1951;
• Amy Tan, author, born in 1952;
• Eve Ensler, playwright, born in 1953;
• Julieanna Richardson, historian, born in 1954;
• Maria Shriver, journalist and former first lady of the State of California, born in 1955;
• Kim Cattrall, actress, born in 1956;
• Virginia Rometty, IBM chief executive, born in 1957;
• Ellen Ochoa, director of the Johnson Space Center, born in 1958;
• Ronnie Lott, athlete, born in 1959;
• Erin Brockovich, environmentalist , born in 1960;
• Peter Staley, AIDS activist, born in 1961;
• Rosie O’Donnell, entertainer, born in 1962;
• David LaChapelle, artist, born in 1963; and
• John Leguizamo, actor, born in 1964.

We can watch it online, but it's not very comfortable watching a TV show on the computer sitting in an office chair! And it seems PBS has more than one fundraiser every year. I don't want to have to pay for cable just to get decent TV reception or to get the channels that don't quite make it out to the part of town where we live. That's a luxury we can't afford.
