Ladies, we really need your prayers to help move Ivan away from Florida. Right now, forecasts have it on a direct path to collide with Florida, Sunday - Tuesday.

Florida has been so severely damaged due to Hurricanes Charlie and Frances I don't think we can take another disasterous hit.

Vicki,
You and all of the residents of Florida are in my prayers! I've heard from several relatives who live in Florida how difficult it has been and none of them even had any real damage, unlike thousands of others. They just had the inconvenience of being without electricity, not being able to work for a few days, etc. Let's ask all the BWS sisters to join together and ask the Lord to blow this thing out to sea and spare Florida. We all know He can calm the wind and seas. May God bless you and grant you His peace and strength in the days to come.

Vicki, I'm joining the circle of prayer here and whether they post or not, I'm sure the other women are doing the same. I have an Uncle who lives in Tallahassee, and two friends who live in Tampa, and then we have our own sisters, YOU and Carolyn (Lionspaaw)in harms way.

We are praying now, and will continue to pray.

Sening love your way loaded with prayer, JJ

Prayers going up from me too everyone...I have a LOT of friends and "former" family down in Florida and over and above them - NOBODY should have to go through this scary cycle of uncertainty storm after storm after storm. It has to be very draining! I pray that God grants you all the strength to deal with ALL of it; whatever comes your way.

I'm in on the prayers for florida. My mom lives in a mobile home in Dunnellon, FL. She lost her shed in Frances. For Charley she left for higher grounds after being evacuated. Guess what, she went over to Daytona and the storm passed right through there. Thankfully she was in a strong hotel. They lost power but were safe. When she got back to her house, not even a twig had fallen. That's the worst part about hurricanes, not knowing exactly where they will strike! I hope Ivan burns himself out at sea.

We put the hurricane shutters up at my parents and got our kids car packed and said bye to them as they head for New Orleans -- but I don't think I'm going to be able to convince my mom to evacuate the area.

Since I live in a modular home -- I either sit it out behind hurricane shutters in her home or I run. I told her she's a big girl and can make her own decisions but I can't go thru another hurricane. My dad wants to leave but he will do as mom wants.

I don't know what's worse -- the thought of living through this again or leaving them behind (they are in their 80's).

so I doubt there will be much sleep tonight - I either leave in the morning or decide to stay --

I am NOT a happy camper tonight [Frown]

Does anybody know who or what pissed Mother Nature off so much at Florida ?????? [Eek!]

Scary business this Mother nature stuff. Kind of shows us that GOD is the Almighty and only he can save us. Prayers are all we've got, God help all those in the Hurricanes path.

Carolyn with that little "wobble" Ivan took overnight, I've now got some friends in New Orleans who are thinking it's heading THEIR way - hope your family who's headed there to avoid the storm doesn't wind up being IN it!

Mother Nature does indeed "have it out" for Florida this hurricane season doesn't she...well, as we've all said - prayers are being offered up that Ivan runs out of steam SOON and changes his mind and heads back out to the ocean where he came from! Wouldn't THAT be something?!

Stay safe everyone..... [Frown]

Thats what makes it so hard to decide where hurricanes are going -- those little "whobbles"

Look at Charley - Vicki was all prepared to have it landfall in Tampa and as we sat watching the TV the little "whobble" it took brought it right into our shores -- and again last night -- the little "whobble" took the eye off Jamaica --

but the problem with waiting and seeing is that everyone ELSE is doing the same thing -- so if it "whobbles" back towards us -- we may be sitting the storm out on I-75 with thousands of other cars and trucks doing 2 mph heading north

I think New Orleans is out of the woods with this hurricane though -- at least so far -- Florida is still projected for the landfall -- we just dont know where yet

Wouldnt it be kewl if they could fly those hurricane planes into the storm and drop a few sprinkles of something and put the storm out ?? [Smile]

lion, now there's a little invention for you to work on. Sprinkle dust for hurricanes. What a mind! [Big Grin]
