Well, lets see...this week scratch the fish. Seems we're down to fresh(cough, cough) air and sunshine? Nope, too much of that's not good for us either.
I bet our meredithbead can inform us here. Meredith?
Gosh, Sigrid what can you have, really?

Sigrid GF, you're close to being up the proverbial sh-- crick without a paddle as far as your protein sources. This is the first time I heard that soy affected thyroid, so I really can't comment further on that.

some suggestions:
Organic chicken -- no hormones.
Farm-raised fish -- should be no mercury
For the fish and chicken, go to a health food grocery.

and everyone's favorite:
beans and rice

Can you have eggs?

Hi everyone, Thanks so much for the concern and suggestions. At least I'm keeping my girlish figure ;-) LOL!

I do eat chicken, pork, steak, and hamburger, usually broiled or baked. I have very small servings of peanuts, although they make me sneeze, and I have one serving a day of a half a rye cracker with almond butter. It's delicious but I am allergic to nuts in that they give me sinus problems. Sometimes, I have cheese but I'm trying to cut that out right now. Oh, yeah, for breakfast I have a sugar-free bacon and an egg, although I'm allergic to eggs. Because I meeting all these foods and I'm allergic to, I live on extra strength antihistamines and cortisone, both of which aggravate my blood sugar! And I eat very small TINY portions of whole wheat bread.

Before I went on the bacon and cheese, I lost 15 pounds and was underweight, which is funny because I spent my whole entire lifetime trying to lose 15 pounds. Then doctors wanted to put me on Ensure but it was full sugar! The bacon helped me to gain some weight back.

I have an extremely low carbohydrate tolerance so when I deviate from this diet, I've really pay. But obviously, it's just not a diet that anyone can stick to for any period of time. The other night I ordered a huge container of Chinese food and I'm still paying for my sins :-)

My hypoglycemia was caused by stomach surgery and I can't help but believe that there must be a corrective surgery that will cure it. I've seen several specialists and one surgeon and they say it can't be done but I don't believe it. I've read about different surgeries that should be able to help me. Problem is that you can't refer yourself to a surgeon!

Anyway, sorry for rambling so long. I dictate with a voice program, so often my posts are really long. My apologies!

Love, Sigrid

Sigrid, my prayer for you today is that you can find one thing that you really, really, like to eat; that its good for you and you're not allergic to it. I don't think they're making manna any more, so I'm not sure what it will be. I'm just praying that you'll find it. Is not being able to refer yourself to a surgeon a Canadian thing? Or is that an everywhere thing? And do tell us about this voice dictate program. You talk and it types? How cool is that!?! Don't worry about the ramble. We don't have to *read between the lines* that way [Big Grin]

Sigrid, I have a friend who has all kinds of diet restrictions. She teases that she's allowed water and paper products. [Razz]

Meredith, I knew you w ould come up with suggestions for Sigrid.

Sigrid, do you have Trader Joe's food stores nearby? I bet their staff could help you with your meal planning.
