This one will make you think:

I should have mentioned it when we had the women form Beyond the Corner Office in here.

What a profound story Dotsie. I think maybe the factory workers felt that the professional women looked down on them.

The woman all alone on her birthday was poorer than the poorest factory-worker woman.

The factory worker had all the special "riches" of family and friends celebrating her birthday while the rich woman had nothing.

Wow, what a well written story. And so easy to understand all those feelings of being different, envying others, etc. I think all women can relate.
It just goes to show that the "poorest of the poor" can have much wealth and posessions. But the one posession they may lack is true love. And the lonliest soul on earth can be anyone.
St. Augustine said "Our souls are restless until they rest in Thee"
Someone else once said that our hearts have a God shaped hole in them that only He can fill.

Just venturing into someone else's life, those of different backgrounds, hold a wealth of new learning possibilities. If, we are only willing to reach out with a open heart.

Maybe the writer's message was that perhaps climbing that corporate ladder can come with a price. Many high-power jobs require men and women to work long hours eschewing family and friends. How often do we hear, "I don't have the time?"

We need to take the time to enjoy life however no matter what our stature in life because:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breaths away!

When you read it, which group did you wish you were a part of?

The factory workers. They seemed to be having much more fun.
