No Anno, Scrooge didn't even have candles.

Funny, I always thought we decorated more or less for the children. Who was I kidding? Every year we add on. This year Hubby is flipping out. He bought more lights for outdoors.

After we did the "live" lighting practice, Hubby admitted himself, that he overdid it. Maybe because I put my sunglasses on? At least I didn't have to be the one to say, "Las Vegas, eat your heart out."

Hubby removed about half the lights and gave them to our son, who accepted them with a big grin. I think he has his father's Christmas light genes.

Hannelore, that has all the markings of a great, humorous Christmas article, don't you think?

My new neighbors have left nothing to the imagination as far as lights go. Especially when a plane landed in their yard last night. Your hubby would have light envy if he saw their yard. The Grizwolds are alive and well and living in Alabama. (Chevy Chase, Christmas Vacation)

The night when they "hit the switch" I thought it was the second coming. I was on the couch watching TV and even in between my window blinds, there was bright light flowing into my living room and I hit the floor asking for forgiveness....

It's hard being me.

OMG, JJ you crack me up!

Was it last night when you hit the floor? About five minutes after 10:00?
Ha ha, you really thought that was your neighbor, didn't you?

Praying for your speedy recovery Queen JJ. We can't have our resident Monarch under the weather now can we? Danny Devito had a new Christmas movie out this year that looks really hysterical. He and his next door neighbor played by Matthew Broderick, have a fued/contest going on whos home is the best decorated and the clips I've seen are a riot. I can't recall the name of the movie though, help me here girls....

Oh, oh. Is it a guy thing? My husband just finished decorating our deck. It looks sort of like that here. JJ, it might have been us you saw. Some of our neighbors like it, but this one woman who is a royal (no pun intened here) pain, hates them. She complained so much about anyone of us who put up lights (and we have the most) that they made a rule of no colored lights, white lights only. So he put up all white lights and plenty of them. If I hear one peep out of her and her humbug attitude, I'll put Santa, his sleigh and all the reindeer I can find that light up and give her something else to complain about. They didn't say we couldn't have colored balls, so we have one huge tree with enormous gold balls and a twelve foot tree with smaller ones in blue, green and red. Then there's the boat out there with the colored lights. They have no say in what the boat people do. ha ha.

Thanks Ms. C...that movie is Deck the Halls. Boy did it get bad reviews. I was hoping it would be hilarious and as you say Chatty, the trailers look funny. But the reviews say it's crude. Guess we'll have to go see it and judge for ourselves....eh?

That's the spirit Louisa! You got two Christmas trees on your deck? Wow...way to go.I think your Hubby and mine will get along just fine. We'll send them off to some sports game, while we go look at art shops. Deal?

Yes JJ, see it for ourselves because I never listen to the reviewers as most are just old fuddie-duddies and wouldn't know a good movie if they tripped over it.
