I have a new neighbor. She's from England. And she loves biking.
She bikes for miles, from one town to the next. And that means
about 10 to 15 miles between villages, up and down hills.
When she told me how far she bikes, it made me tired just thinking about it. I'd probably kill myself. That's why I walk.
I don't have far to fall, when I fall off my shoes! LOL...

Yea, part of the problem of living in North America, is our countries are huge. When you are on a bike, you don't truly realize our sprawling a suburb can be until you are cycling for 30-50 kms. in the suburbs, leaving the downtown core....and wondering when is this suburban sprawl going to stop until we reach country/mountains.

I have met cyclists who were like you jabber. You would be amazed what happens when the exploratory spirit and sense of freedom takes over oneself on bike.

orchid, one of the problems with biking here is all the traffic. There are few bike paths, but they pretty much come to abrupt ends. We have a couple trails, but that's different than getting out on the open road and going for miles. People certainly do it, but it's frightening to me.
