Description
The real Christmas card this year is the 2nd one with he and I together. I didn't want to post it up front to see it constantly for next few months in the column of photos!

Photo was part of free outdoor photo shoot for cyclists. To promote cycling in late fall in our city. One of rare photos of us in cycling gear together. Usually we are taking photos of each other.

Warm wishes for a happy holiday and best for 2010.

Beautiful - especially the red against the snow, lovely contrast!

Orchid,
Love the pictures. That snow photo reminds of the winters we
went snowmobiling, which was from 1969 to 2004. Your scenery
looks like the countryside around here. Love seeing you and your
man together. Great stuff!

Photo was taken in a x-country skiing and snowshoeing mountain area about 150 kms. west of Vancouver. Lots of hiking in spring to fall. On the day of that photo, there was no wind and temps. just around 30F degrees or abit lower and just winter magical wonderland all around. The snow can be deep..fluffy and pure white. So different from city snow.

Pic taken a few years ago, but does evoke the feeling of several Christmases, where we've been to different ski mountain resort areas in our province in past winters...peaceful, awesome and snowy. Trees are soaring high compared to other provinces, because the trees get more rain along northwest Pacific coast during other seasons. (Anne you should know this also.)

orchid, where's your bike? Doesn't it have snow tires? Now there's an invention!

Thanks for sharing your Christmasy photos. They're lovely.

Orchid, these photos are just Gorgeous! You are in the Vancouver area? I am a travel junkie and I really, really want to visit Vancouver. When we visit Seattle we are thinking about going to Vancouver at the same time. Not sure when that will be but hopefully sometime this year.

Do come to Vancouver, B.C. It's 250 kms. north of Seattle. One can take the Amtrak train from downtown Seattle into downtown Vancouver. If you don't feel like driving. Or flying to Vancouver, the airport is directly connected to the light rapid transit station and will get you downtown in less than 20 min. Let's see it costs about $5.00 one way. Cheaper than taxi.

I've been to Seattle several times and have stayed there downtown, biked around, etc.

Seattle's downtown waterfront is quite different from Vancouver's..because decades ago Vancouver nixed the idea of building a major expressway through the heart of downtown. It would have destroyed our waterfront view.

Lots to see. Best times of year to visit Vancouver / seattle is May to Sept., when there's less rainy days. You would love our weather...and air is fresher here because we are on the coast.

Feel free to pm me any time.
