Toni - my husband has long blond hair -- to the middle of his back -- it's "him" -- part of who he is -- and I've often told him that he's like Samson -- cut his hair and he'd lose his strength

The other morning, while drying it and putting it in a ponytail for him -- like I've done practically every day for the last 28 yrs -- he commented -- "don't you get tired of fooling with my hair every day" -- and I told him that it gave me comfort -- it was the perfect way for me to start my day. For 10-15 min I could get "lost" in the "us" of it all -- some people have breakfast together -- we share those few minutes

I used to do that for Rob -- before the voices stole that part of him -- I guess now I'll have to settle for a ponytail in an envelope

he'll find a way to let me know that its okay -- he always does
