tulips, earth, squirrel, path

Tulips in the morning
Tulips in the park
But the best place for “two lips” is in the dark!

I took that verse above, from my old autograph book.
It has a cushioned cover, and a pinky look.
Cute squirrels, on the cover, run down a flowered path,
If you wiggled the book, they move! That always made me laugh.

I’d lie between two oak trees, on our striped hammock,
And with sweet expectations, my precious book I’d unlock.
Swinging high and low, branches bend over the warm earth,
Yes, those poems I still read with a young girlish mirth.

New words
Highway, radio, wind, smile
