Chatty,
That is cool. Your dictionary has a softer selection than mine does, that's why I leave this "picking" task to you, dear lady!

Words: tab, tabernacle, table, tablespoon

My best friend and I attended,
A big, ole tabernacle, near here.
Most referred to that church as, The Tab,
Wherever you went, that's what you'd hear.

At first, we felt as welcome,
As a breath of fresh air, in hot season,
Folks laughed 'n sang, and treated us sweetly,
Without any cause or reason.

Clergy served parishioners,
The Lord's Supper, at least once a month,
Elements, they placed on a thin table,
In the sanctuary, up along the front.

"One People, one call, to heal the broken,"
Plaques on the wall, doth read.
That was "The Tab's" mission,
That was their slogan, indeed.

But troubles overtook my dear, dear friend,
And they weren't the tablespoon size,
Now I ask myself where "The Tab" folks are,
Who sat in the pews by our side.
