The Gift

The greatest gift I was ever given,
Next to the air that keeps me livin',
'Twas when a farmer and his wife,
Chose to adopt me, into their life.

Those blessed years, I'm so grateful for,
I grew up in the land, of the great outdoors.
Where orchards bloomed and grape vines, strewn,
And animals roamed all around the home.

Ha, yes; I'm here to say,
The greatest gift, I ever got,
Was when my folks' decided,
They would adopt.
