I tend to like a sandwich that's closer to a pannini where there's a brie cheese or provolone, not just cheddar with prosciutto, etc. with it and the whole thing is flattened-heated for a few min. I've had artichoke spread, sometimes sauerkraut, etc.

It's been decades since I've had just a plain ordinary grilled cheddar cheese sandwich with white bread. Probably when I was in my early 20's.
