Does anyone know of a good writing contest? I have been too busy lately to scan the web to find one. I am all ears for one that is legit and profitable...

Do you ever submit to anthologies? Sometimes it's fun to give them a go, and I just found out about a new site that has several callouts. It's called Dream of Things. Go to www.dreamofthings.com and click on the Workshop page. There are callouts for stories about holidays, great teachers, forgiveness, saying goodbye, travel, and more!

Anthologies are a great way to break into print. Some have called them the writer's "lazy" way to go, but I don't think that's giving the writer credit for their work and quite frankly, don't agree with that assessment at all! I'm in several and love that I am, feel honored to be in there.
Don't hesitate! What a great way to add credits to your belt. Yes?

Amy you have come through again, great website...And JJ I too agree the writers in an Anthology aren't always given their due. Writing for anthologies is very competitive, only so many get in and there are usually there are hundreds of entries. So if you are chosen that is quite an honor...

So glad you like the site. I just heard about it recently.
I agree about anthologies. I was amazed when I heard how many entries some of them have. If that's the lazy writer's way, string me up a hammock and bring on the pink lemonade--LOL!

Hi Chatty,
One of my writing friends just mentioned the other day that she was entering a writing contest that was related to things religious or spiritual.
I didn't jot down the name, as I have no experience with writing contests, but if you're interested in one of that nature, let me know and I will get you the details.
